This page gives a checklist of things to do when you arrive in IT-SDC-ID

Things you should do

General Induction information session. Understand computing rules and safety See induction (applies to staff and fellows)
User accounts Email, AFS, NICE, etc. Your computer accounts should be ready, call 77777 for the password. Then you can go to http://cern.ch/cernaccount. Do the New users: Security Training and Computing Rules and change your password.
User AIS account Potential AIS problem It may happen that the AIS password is not correctly synchronized with the general password (Email, AFS, NICE, etc.). In this case you must contact the AIS technical support (ais.support!NOSPAM@cernDOTch) and request that your AIS password be reset.
Certificate You will need it for all grid activites Follow the instructions on this Link to get a certificate
Savannah You'll need access to our bug and patch tracking system - register https://savannah.cern.ch/account/register.php
TWikiRegistration Register for Read-Write access to the Twiki pages Fill the form out at TWikiRegistration
Phone entry in IT phone book Standard entry for mail and phone Check if it is correct at http://consult.cern.ch/xwho . If not, contact the IT secretariat (31 2-017)
Keys Keys for your office The IT secretariat (31 2-017) should have given you information about how to collect your key (check your documents)
Get access to GGUS to answer/close GGUS tickets import you Certificate in you browser and register to https://gus.fzk.de/
Section meetings Your opportunity to tell everyone about all the hard work you did in the week Room 31-S-023 - 10:00 - Mondays (http://map.web.cern.ch/map/building?bno=31)
Register with the dteam VO Membership of a VO is required for access to the grid https://voms.hellasgrid.gr:8443/vo/dteam/vomrs Put Steve Traylen as your representative.

Machine Room For physical access to systems Go to EDH-Other Tasks-Access Request and ask for "CC 513 - MACHINE ROOMS - LONG TERM (CC513L)" Put "physical access required for system installation and maintenance" as the justification.
Get access to group infrastructure For root access and user access You need an AFS account and a ssh pub/priv key and your twiki account name. Then contact Tomasz Wolak
Get access to the testbed Virtual Organisation For testing purposes Contact Tomasz Wolak
Physical Testbed EMI testbed For access contact Tomasz Wolak
