This page gives a checklist of things to do when you arrive in IT-GD-ITR.

General Induction information session. Understand computing rules and safety See induction
User accounts Email, AFS, NICE, etc. Follow Account registration, download the user registration form, fill it in and give it to Cath (28-R-009). She can give you a copy of the form too. Then you can go to http://cern.ch/cernaccount. Do the New users: Security Training and Computing Rules and change your password.
User AIS account Potential AIS problem It may happen that the AIS password is not correctly synchronized with the general password (Email, AFS, NICE, etc.). In this case you must contact the AIS technical support (ais.support!NOSPAM@cernDOTch) and request that your AIS password be reset.
Mailing lists Subscribe to the SA3 mailing list Go to e-Groups, search for 'project-eu-egee-sa3' mailing list and subscribe to it. Do the same with 'it-dep-gd' and 'it-dep-gd-itr' lists
Computer Security Have a quick chat with Louis Poncet about security practices in the group, at CERN, and in the grid Contact Louis.Poncet
Get access to hosts on SA3 For root access and user access You need an AFS account and a ssh pub/priv key and your twiki account name, Then contact Louis Poncet or Tomasz Wolak (or the person to contact in the i'm away mail).
Certificate You will need it for all grid activites Follow the instructions on this Link to get a certificate
Register with the dteam VO Membership of a VO is required for access to the grid https://lcg-voms.cern.ch:8443/vo/dteam/vomrs?path=/RootNode Put Nicholas Thackray as your representative.
Virtual Testbed Is a cluster of machines where you can use to temporarily deploy virtual machines to test certify and integrate. vNode Quick Start

Machine Room For physical access to systems Go to EDH-Other Tasks-Access Request and ask for "CC 513 - MACHINE ROOMS - LONG TERM (CC513L)" Put "physical access required for system installation and maintenance" as the justification.
Savannah You'll need access to our bug and patch tracking system - register https://savannah.cern.ch/account/register.php
TWikiRegistration Register for Read-Write access to the Twiki pages Fill the form out at TWikiRegistration
Phone entry in IT phone book Standard entry for mail and phone Check if it is correct at http://consult.cern.ch/xwho . If not, contact the IT secretariat (31 2-017)
Keys Keys for your office Cath (28-R-009) will be able to give you an office key
Get access to GGUS to answer/close GGUS tickets import you Certificate in you browser and register to https://gus.fzk.de/
Car Access Sticker If you have a car, you can get a Vignette to allow easier access to the site. See registration stickers
AFS To get permissions to read or write to gd/sa3 directories (if needed) Contact: Louis Poncet or Tomasz Wolak
CVS To get permissions to read or write on jra1mdw cvs (if needed) Contact: Andreas Unterkircher
Section meetings Your opportunity to tell everyone about all the hard work you did in the week 28-R-015 - 14:00 - Wednesdays

Get on the grid Start using the grid, submit a job, register (and delete) a file Log onto lxplus to get started. The UI is described here
