Processing Requests from ERC and ESFRI Projects
Projects funded by ERC (European Research Council) together with those listed in the ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures) roadmap, are among the main targets for collaboration with EGEE. This has been emphasized once again by the project reviewers during the final EGEE-II review. Inside EGEE it is the responsibility of NA4 to respond to requests coming from these projects and provide guidance for the exploitation of EGEE's infrastructure and of grid technologies in general. The first contact point of these projects with EGEE is the CPLO (Collaborating Projects Liaison Office).
The process that is followed for interactions with these projects is outlined below:
- Request received - CPLO sends a mail acknowledgement to the person concerned.
- Request is forwarded to NA4 activity leaders.
- A person/team within NA4 is appointed to handle the request.
- The person/team appointed accepts to take care of the request.
- The NA4 person/team establishes contact with the requestor and lets CPLO know when this has been done (email to contact CPLO is project-eu-egee-cplo@cernNOSPAMPLEASE.ch).
- The appointed NA4 person/team is requested to send to CPLO reports (a few lines) on any progress which we will keep track of in the ERC document on a case by case basis.
The first five steps should ideally not take more than a month. Steps 1 and 2 are handled by the CPLO which is the overall responsible for keeping track of the requests as mentioned in step 6.
