Overview
The NA4 UKIF team covers the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales), Ireland and France. In conjunction with projects such as the
National Grid Service (NGS)
and
GridPP
we provide assistance for new and existing grid users. We are also in close contact with the
NA2 Dissemination and Outreach
and
NA3 Training
activities of the EGEE-III project.
If you would like to use the grid for your research, or are an existing grid user with porting challenges and are based in the UK, Ireland or France, we can help. In order to ease and speed the porting of your application to the Grid, we support a number of
software tools
that work well with the EGEE gLite middleware.
Team Members

New Users can now get started on the EGEE Grid with minimal effort. A new "startup" Virtual Organization (VO), "NA4.VO.EU-EGEE.ORG", is now operational, and can be used for up to 6 months by new users. Wether you need to port you application to the Grid or participate in MATLAB trials, we can help. Contact us at

Localised Support Material
All the local Grid initiatives provide support for users of their resources. Details on how to obtain a digital certificate, join a Virtual Organization and obtain access to resources and services are provided in the links below. To ease and speed up the process of joining EGEE, NA4 provides a limited pool of
start-up resources for new Virtual Organizations (VOs) or new users.

Importing CA certificates
In order to be able to check that a given certificate is trusted, you need to have a copy of the CA certificate in your browser. The root certificates for the CA's of
UK
,
Ireland
and
France
are available.
Note that you will normally have to make an allowance for the browser the first time you collect the CA certificates, as otherwise there's a bit of a bootstrap problem!
