VO Support

Team Details

The VO Support Group (VOS) is a small NA4 team lead by Frederic Schaer, from CEA.

Its members originate from GRNET/AUTH, CNRS/LAL, CNRS/CPPM and CEA

The VO Support Group is dedicated to helping Virtual Organisations, and thus aids user communities in successfully interacting with the project. The support group’s functions are:

  • Working with VO managers to clarify how VOs fit into the grid infrastructure, to assist in all aspects of VO creation and registration, and to educate the VO managers regarding their responsibilities. Tools and documentation are provided to assist them to efficiently manage their Virtual Organisation.

  • Helping with resource allocation for the VOs and interfacing to the resource allocation group on behalf of the VOs.

  • Collecting requirements from VOs on VO management tools and also gLite middleware. Every requirement and request is written down, and passed onto the project technical management. These requests are followed up by the VO Support Group by interacting with the appropriate technical teams in the project on behalf of the VOs. The middleware requirements may also come through the various scientific clusters.

Contact

Users can send support requests to the VO Support Group via GGUS, the project’s ticket processing system.
