VOMS issues

This is is a list of issues affecting VO managers/operators. Its purpose is to act as a bookkeeping place of the NA4 VO support activity. It is not yet complete.

Problems with VOMS in glite 3.1 updates 27-32

The VOMS server packages in glite 3.1 updates 27-32 have several issues that prevent proper functionality. It is recommended to downgrade to glite-VOMS_oracle-3.1.8-0 or glite-VOMS_mysql-3.1.8-0. Note that this version suffers from logging problems, see https://savannah.cern.ch/bugs/?31476

Update: this bug was closed on Dec 23 2008. Glite update 35 http://glite.web.cern.ch/glite/packages/R3.1/updates.asp#3.1_Update_35 released on 14 November 2008 introduced a new VOMS server with several fixes need to test this version.

URI issue

The value set for '--uri' does not contain the ':vomsd_port' suffix, which is important for voms-proxy-info.

New documentation has been made available in update 35 and has been also linked in glite main page. Also a patch to perform this setting during initial deployment has been developed but as yet ( January 2009) is not in production

Update: With the latest VOMS version this seems to have been fixed.

Internal server error when VO admin has been added via cli with his certificate and has more than one e-mail addresses in it

Encountered this on several occasions, but still looking for a way to accurately reproduce this.
