WLCG-OSG-EGEE Ops' Minutes Mon 07 Jul 2008
Summary
- The Italian ROC questioned the correct procedure for when advertised transparent interventions change status half-way through to, for instance, a complete service loss. To be considered with the GOCDB staff.
- The last of the tier1s, BNL and Fermilab, confirmed that their FTS servers had been reconfigured to zero retries for the LHC VO.

EGEE Items From ROC Reports
- DECH
- SAM had some problems this week ...
- SAM Problem: (network) problem with the CERN BDII used by the RB/WMS for job submission.
- SAM Problem: File missing for host certificate test.
- There was a network problem at CERN with the firewall rule-set becoming overloaded.
- There are now the beginnings of plans and techniques to retrospectively modify SAM results for periods where SAM is the culprit. This would allow GridView statistics to be regenerated for such periods.
- ITALY
- We noticed this problem on the GOC DB: in a open downtime, when status is changed, for example from Risk to Outage, the history is lost, so if we open one for "Risk status" and after 3 days we pass in "Outage status" for the GOC DB we have been always in "Outage Status". It seems one solution is to close the down of "Risk status" and open a new one for "Outage status".
- Please raise a support/feature request within https://savannah.cern.ch/projects/gocdb/
- There was some discussion as to if changing a downtime status half-way through was the correct thing to do. It seems that, if needed, it is better to shortern the current one and then create a new one with the new status.
