  • Status of clients and libraries
    • xrootd protocol added in ARC
    • Some internal changes in GFAL - will be easier to plugin
    • now could be a good time for ARC to come with a list of what will be needed to plugin ARC DMCs in GFAL
    • GFAL will do internal consolidation with FTS
  • ARC/GFAL comparison table
    • Jon and David filled out ARC part, GFAL should be checked
    • Core GFAL should be written in C - could be problem for using ARC DMC in GFAL
  • Consolidation plans sent to Patrick
    • We have sent a plan to Patrick
    • We need to be ready with development plan in October
    • Finish implementation in February 2012
  • Consolidation ideas (and what can we gain?)
    • Both components use lfc-tools for catalog handling, lcg_utils discards catalog handling commands
      • Done
    • gLite tries to use SRM code from ARC
      • investigate the possibility of using ARC plugins in connection with GFAL
      • Zsolt will check DMC documentation
    • ARC tries to create a GFAL plugin to make it possible to use the protocols supported by GFAL
    • Any other ideas
      • FTS will use GFAL, FTS needs xrootd and http protocols, FTS is written in C++, ARC has plugins for http and xrootd
  • AOB
    • Zsolt will not be at all-hands, Michail Salichos will come instead
    • Michail will replace Ricardo in the consolidation group
