• Zsombor went through draft on data consolidation plan

• Zsolt: GFAL2 status
  • GFAL2 under preparation
  • Complete rewrite
  • Convincing tests, already able to mount and copy
  • Should start using GFAL2 instead of GFAL1
  • Want to freeze GFAL1
  • Will be added to EMI2
  • No new features in GFAL1
  • David: Experiments will not change from anything they use now (eg GFAL) to anything new (eg GFAL2) before the 2013 shutdown, so expect to support old stuff for a while.
  • Zsolt will send out summary of GFAL 1/2 status
• Zsolt: same situation for lcg_util as for GFAL
  • if you don't want to use new features, just keep lcg_util
  • Jon: we don't need to care about compatibility layer in plan
• David: Is there any functionality in lcg_util (eg POSIX) that is not provided by libarcdata, (just to know if libarcdata can work for all lcd commands)?
• Zsolt: no, lcg_util is on file level.
• Zsolt needs to check [something] out

• Jon went through some open questions from the draft
  • Most questions answered, Jon will send out an updated draft
