Catalogue Synchronization [SYNCAT]
This WG is working on the usage of a shared message-passing infrastructure in order to keep synchronized the content of remote catalogues. The Dec demonstrator was provided, after the development of a set of libraries/tools called SEMsg that are now available in beta version.
SEMsg is a plugin-based framework written in C++ that makes possible to interconnect remote catalogues (e.g. LFC and the local catalogues of the DPM storage elements). SEMsg provides a core package and a few plugin packages,
including:
- a DPM plugin, which interfaces the system to a DPM-based Storage Element
- an LFC plugin, which interfaces the system to an instance of LFC
- a Python plugin, which makes it easy to write simple scripts that are efficiently run when SEMsg needs to perform an action
More details are available in the attached official documentation.

- Minutes of the EVO meeting of 11-Feb-2011: Participants: Fabrizio, Michele. Very short meeting, focusing on understanding if the security requirements were reasonable. It seems so.
