Common Data Area Working Groups, as described in the DJRA1

In some JRA1-Data areas, a coordination between different Product Teams is required in order to provide the necessary milestones. We identified the areas below to benefit from such an inter-PT collaboration. Some of the working groups below need to interaction with non-EMI people or groups.

1. SRM specification consolidation (Learn More)
Developing simplified use cases for using the SRM protocol for real work applications.

2. SRM, replacing httpg with https SSL/X509 (Learn More)
Replacing the GLOBUS propriatary security protocol by standard SSL/X509.

3. Posix File Access file://..., NFS 4.1 (Learn More)
Enabling genuine POSIX access to EMI storage elements.

4. Data access via http(s)/WebDav
Allowing Web like access to EMI storage elements.

5. Catalogue synchronization (Learn More)
Design and implementation of a name space synchronization between the LFC and other catalogues and EMI and possibly other SE's.

6. gLite file catalogue access for UNICORE
gLite file catalogue access for UNICORE

7. GLUE 2.0 migration (Learn More)
Implementation of data part of the GLUE 2.0 (OGF) standard in DPM, StoRM and dCache.

8. Data client library consolidation (Learn More)
Merging common functionality between the gLite and ARC data access libraries.

9. Integration of ARGUS
Integrating the ARGUS blacklisting mechansim into FTS and the EMI SE's.

10. Storage Accounting (Learn More)
Define and add support for a Storage Accounting Record in EMI data.

11. Monitoring
Defining and implementing a common monitoring interface/API.

12. Managebility
Adding CLI's and Web Interfaces to EMI data components where necessary.

13. Message Passing in EMI data (Learn More). Finished.
