MJRA1.3 - Successful implementation of the common job submission and management methods

This milestone indicates that the computational job submission between different integrated compute technology components is successful and that these solutions can be used in the broader production.

  • 19/03/12 Jon: As far as the JRA1 management is concerned, this milestone is achieved. During implementation it was found that some enhancement and hardening needs to be done during Y3 but the basic implementation of the common job submission and management methods is done, but this is only to be expected. As I see it, only the milestone report from Marco is missing.
  • April 10, 2012, status update:

also according to the JRA1 savannah tracker, the implementation of the EMI-ES in the three stacks is not fully achieved yet. By this time, preparation of the EMI-2 release is what the teams are focusing on, so I would not expect too much progress until the first release is out. The first interoperability tests between gLite and UNICORE started a couple of weeks ago, and were successful in achieving basic job management operations (createActivity, listActivities and the like). Here below are the details:

ARC: server: 90%. This almost done prototype can be released in EMI 2 as ARC CE 2.0.0. client: 80%. The incomplete prototype can be released in EMI 2 as ARC Clients 2.0.0

gLite: server and client: 85%. This almost done prototype can be released in EMI 2 as CREAM 1.14.0 (ResourceInfo Port Type missing)

UNICORE: server: 70%. The incomplete prototype can be released in EMI 2 as UNICORE/X(6) 5.0.0: no queryResourceInfo, getActivityInfo will be very limited client: 70%. EMI 2 inclusion decision: the incomplete code cannot be released as part of EMI 2

Dear all,

Version 0.2 of the GLUE2 profile for EMI-ES is available for comments

https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/pub/EMI/EmiExecutionService/EMI-ES_GLUE2_profile_v0.2.odt

Unfortunately I am having some problems in validating the XML rendering when using Extensions, and I need to cross check the LDAP examples for completeness (that is, if mandatory LDAP attributes are all there).

Section 3.6 an 3.7 (Actual LDAP and XML renderings) is 80% correct.

Please send me comments.

I wanted to do a lightweight thing but is not that easy.
