General comments

From the point of view of contents, the document is in a good condition. However, I do recommend the following changes.

Structure

As compared to DJRA1.5.1, section 3.2 only mentions the newly adopted standards. Standards adopted prior to EMI are only mentioned in the summary. This is fine, but should be made explicit, otherwise readers may be puzzled by the absence of a number of standards in section 3.2.

  • Morris: Done: added two sentences about this at the beginning of Section 3

Additionally, I would like to propose a different structure for section 3.2. A lot of the content is repetitive as a large number of components adopted GLUE 2. The section for each product is focused around the standards that have been adopted rather than around the product. This leads to repetitions in the information about each of the standards. I'd propose to lift the standards up one level and list the products for which the standards are relevant, e.g.

3.2.1 XACML 3.2.1.1 ARGUS 3.2.1.2 CREAM 3.2.1.3 UNICORE

  • Morris: Done: after the confirmation of this small structure change by the PO, Section 3 (and Section 6!) are now structured in this way (v.0.9)

Maybe the products don't even need to go into numbered sections. This way, you avoid a lot of repetition, particularly for GLUE2, but also for other standards.

  • Morris: Not done: As a point of reference for product teams and their work I kept the numbers to point more easily to work done (Section 3) or work that needs to be done (Section 6) per EMI product (v.0.9)

Content

I'm missing WebDAV that was part of DJRA1.5.1. What became of it? dCache was planned to integrate it. In return, I see POSIX/IO in the document now, which hasn't been part of DJRA1.5.1.

  • Morris: Done: was simply overlooked as it was a second year objective - it is added now to the status section (v.0.9)

Additional recommendations (not affecting the document content, e.g. recommendation for future work)

Detailed comments on the content

Note 1: The reviewers must list here any observation they want to track explicitly and that require interaction with the authors
Alternatively all changes must be listed in the document itself using Word change tracking features (if you use Word)
Note 2: These comments have to be explicitly addressed by the authors and the action taken must be clearly described

N Page Section Observations and Replies Is Addressed?

I've made additional comments and rephrasing in the document itself, which I'll attach to the Wiki page. Hope you can live with the fact I did them in OpenOffice.

* Morris: Done: I edited the small typos and sentence changes within the uploaded document using the track changes and accept function (v.0.9)
