General comments

The document reads ok. Some areas of improvements are better context to EMI while a lot of collobrations are mentioned but sometimes the key collaboration aspect gets lost. This is in particulcar the case with user communities we indirectly serve via infrastructures such as PRACE or EGI.

More comments in the document and using the track changes option.

Additional recommendations (not affecting the document content, e.g. recommendation for future work)

  • Conclusion section is rather something for scientific papers than deliverables from my perspective. Elements of conclusions might be thus rather relevant for the executive summary.

Detailed comments on the content

Note for Reviewers: Please put you comments and changes in the Word document

See document.

Note 1: The reviewers must list here any observation they want to track explicitly and that require interaction with the authors
Alternatively all changes must be listed in the document itself using Word change tracking features (if you use Word)
Note 2: These comments have to be explicitly addressed by the authors and the action taken must be clearly described

Page Section Observations Is Addressed?
1 5 1.4 Additions to table of references Incorporated - Morris: Ok
2 9 Added a paragraph on UNICORE collaborations Incorporated some of this content into new section 5; - Morris:Ok
3 9 I donít know whether projects like SLA4D-Grid, German project to develop a service level agreement layer for D-Grid, the German e-Science infrastructure ( and SmartLM (, Grid-friendly software licensing for location independent application execution, would be of interest for EMI. Did not incorporate these, as the new section 5 is now more general. Should be useful to discuss these for next incarnation of deliverable - Morris: Ok

Any other modification, spelling or grammatical corrections, etc must be done directly in the document using tracked changes or similar mechanisms that allows the authors to identify which correction is suggested.
