Reviewed document

General comments

I've just had a quick look at the document and with all due respect I don't intend to review it. If it were a detailed development plan for each product, possibly accompanied by backwards-compatibility considerations, I would do it, but this document doesn't seem to contain additional information than what's already included in DNA1.3.1 (which I have reviewed) or in the specific TA deliverables about state-of-the-art and workplan for the first year (of which I have reviewed the Infra one).

Moreover in the executive summary I read:

The aim of this particular document is to inform the DCI community about planned new development efforts that are undertaken to realize the aforementioned high-level plans and objectives.

which to me means that the audience of this document are our customers and as such I don't see the added value of an SA1 review. I suggest that someone in NA2 reviews it.

I apologize if I should have understood the above earlier and failed to do so.

Comments and some changes are in the attached document. However my feeling hasn't changed: the document is poor of details on how to address the real and practical issues of putting together all the services and their clients into an integrated middleware distribution, including how to manage the introduction of new features or interfaces, especially when they have to co-exist for a long time with what is already out there.

Detailed comments on the content

Note 1: The reviewers must list here any observation they want to track explicitly and that require interaction with the authors
Alternatively all changes must be listed in the document itself using Word change tracking features (if you use Word)
Note 2: These comments have to be explicitly addressed by the authors and the action taken must be clearly described

N Page Section Observations and Replies Is Addressed?
1 5 1.1 The abstract says "for each EMI major release", not only for EMI-1.
MRi: Agreed with Alberto that this plan only covers EMI-1. Abstract changed.
2 16 5.1.2 These plans are essentially empty.
MRi: Filled over time when test plans become available as well as tools (gStat). Deadline was 2011-01-31 - so it is expected that it is getting filled now rapidly. In fact, we already have begun to fill it more.
3 17 What is the EMI release plan? Add a reference.
MRi: Release plan was not available at the time of writing, but is now. Reference is added.

Any other modification, spelling or grammatical corrections, etc must be done directly in the document using tracked changes or similar mechanisms that allows the authors to identify which correction is suggested.
