UNICORE Service Hosting

The UNICORE Service Hosting PT manages the

  • UNICORE Services Environment (USE)

The UNICORE service environment provides the basic infrastructure for UNICORE services, and cannot be replaced by other containers. It is implemented in pure Java. The web services support is currently based on the XFire SOAP engine and the Jetty web server. The USE can be extended with other types of services (e.g. based on the REST paradigm). Persistent information can be stored in the filesystem or on a number of relational database systems such as MySQL. USE includes the hooks for UNICORE's security features (managed mostly by the UNICORE Security PT), thus it provides the integration with other parts of UNICORE such as the Gateway, UVOS, XUUDB, etc.
