SA1 Progress Tracking (and for Weekly Meetings)

Use the task manager in Savannah for SA1

Choose the Due Tasks or By Status By People summary in Display Criteria and you can select a subset of the open tasks.

For instance:

  • Sort or Select tasks by Status
  • Sort or Select tasks by Priority
  • Sort tasks by FEATURE

Task Status and Feature

Set the status sof the tasks:

  • To Be Discussed: The developers needs some issues to be discussed within the weekly meeting.
  • To Be Prioritized: New task waiting for a proper priority by the Activity Leader or by the team during the weekly meeting
  • Not Started: Task queued because of other more important ones.

  • In Progress: Task work in progress
  • Waiting: Task waiting for other task to be completed in order to go on

  • To Be Verified: Task considered completed by the developer but to be validated by the Activity Leader or at the Weekly Meeting

  • Done: Task completed and validated.
  • Canceled: The task won't be done or has an error.
  • Duplicate: This task is already covered by another one

Reports for weekly meeting:

Having these different proposed status make it easy to have several lists to go through during the weekly meeting. In order of importance (and I propose in order of discussion in the weekly):

Important topics:

  • All tasks "to be discussed" by priority
  • All tasks "waiting" by priority (possibly with the dependencies)

Progress analysis:

  • Open tasks "in progress" by priority

Activity reports:

  • Tasks "To Be Verified" (waiting to be closed)
  • Tasks completed of the week (same as current personal report)

Procedures:

As discussed:
  • Creation: Tasks created by Alberto A or the person himself or someone who needs it
  • Closed: task closed only after verification (by the initiator after discusion at the weekly)

  • Granularity: something other people understand and consider useful information to know/monitor about the day-by-day work
  • Proirity: Task priority of new activities is decided in the weekly either before creating them or if already created by the developer must be "To be
prioritized"

Grouping (FEATURE)

With the same FEATURE will show up not together in the printed list making difficult to track them (since they will have different priorities)
