Here are terms used in ETICS.

also known as build product, it can be, for example, a tarball, rpm or msi file. All artefacts are associated to a single configuration in the ETICS data model, such that we can reproduce it. Each artefact is unique for each configuration.
smallest item that can be built. Normally will generate a single artefact
data model
percistant state of the ETICS metadata and its structure
generic term for project, subsystem or component
a project contains subsystems and components
a subsystem can contain components. Although possible in the data model, the ETICS tooling currently doesn't support nested subsystems
