Instructions / guildelines for preparing and uploading approved public FASER plots

This page is provides guidelines and instructions on preparing, having approved and finally uploading FASER plots to be publically available. Most of the guidelines are discussed in these slides

Plot Style

  • Use ATLAS Style guide in root (gROOT.SetStyle("ATLAS"))
  • Add either FASER logo (preferred) or FASER text on figures (some issues with saving as jpg in root with logo on)
  • Public plots should say "FASER Preliminary" or "FASER Simulation" or FASER\nu Preliminary/Simulation

Plot Approval

  • Approval procedures are documented here (section "Public plots/tables" on page 7)
  • Plots and captions should be uploaded as a pdf file to CDS as described below
  • The category to use is: Home > CERN Experiments > LHC Experiments > FASER > FASER Notes
  • (To do that you go to: https://cds.cern.ch/submit?ln=en&doctype=GENSBM and click your way through as below:
PastedGraphic-11.png

and click on "Submit New Record”).

  • Unfortunately it can take several hours for CDS to make the record viewable after submission, so this should be done a few hours before the expected circulation time
  • The CDS link will be circulated to the collaboration by Jamie, for comments. This should be done before Tuesday afternoon the week of a General meeting, to allow the plots to be approved at that meeting

Uploading to be made public
