Introduction

Organised as an international collaboration of an ever growing group of universities and research centres from all over the world, FCC is open to scientific institutes of academic excellence and high-tech companies that specialise in relevant domains. This set-up forms the core of a globally coordinated strategy of converging actions.

The FCC collaboration advances fundamental science and particle physics research, develops novel technologies and attracts entrepreneurs and innovators to work for the benefit of science and society in a peaceful way.

Organisation of the FCC Study

The initial phase of FCC is organised as an international collaboration that is bound by a Memorandum of Understanding.

Organisation of the FCC feasibility and design project

The second step of FCC is a project to develop and document a design for a new infrastructure that is feasible for implementation in the two host states France and Switzerland, carried by an international collaboration of committed participants. For this phase, the core group is organised through a Consortium Agreement in the frame of the FCCIS H2020 EU project. At CERN, the host organisation of this project, the project will eventually be established with experiment/project status with an agreement that constitutes an evolution of the initial MoU.
