Heavy ion therapy

This page is dedicated to the use of the Geant4 toolkit for radiotherapy applications with heavy ion beams.

Applications

  • MCHIT (Monte Carlo for Heavy Ion Therapy) is a physics validation program that has been developed at FIAS. The current version includes the simulation of nuclear fragmentation and production of positron emitters for beams of nuclei interacting in tissue-like media.
