Livermore photoelectric model bug notification for Geant4 9.6
We are sorry to inform Geant4 users that a bug as been identified in the simulation of atomic deexcitation (emission of Auger and fluorescence) from photoelectric effect in the
G4LivermorePhotoelectricModel class, which was released in the Geant4
9.6 release.
This bug has been already reported in the Geant4 bug report system:
http://bugzilla-geant4.kek.jp/show_bug.cgi?id=1402
In order to
solve this issue, users can :
- or, if the user is using the G4EmLivermorePhysics constructor in his/her application, he/she may copy directly the G4EmLivermorePhysics.hh and G4EmLivermorePhysics.cc files into his/her ./include and ./src application directories, then copy the G4LivermorePhotoElectricModel.hh and the corrected G4PhotoElectricModel.cc files in the same directories, and recompile his/her application. Location of files:
- the file G4EmLivermorePhysics.hh is located in the Geant4 source directory $G4INSTALL/source/physics_lists/builders/include
- the file G4EmLivermorePhysics.cc is located in the Geant4 source directory $G4INSTALL/source/physics_lists/builders/src
- the file G4LivermorePhotoElectricModel.hh is located in the Geant4 source directory $G4INSTALL/source/processes/electromagnetic/lowenergy/include
- the corrected file G4LivermorePhotoElectricModel.cc is available from http://bugzilla-geant4.kek.jp/attachment.cgi?id=194
The bug will be corrected in the next patch to Geant4 9.6.
