Validation activity of the Geant4 Low Energy Working Group

Strategy for Validation

The validation activity is carried out according to the following scheme:

1. The migrated Low Energy electromagnetic models are compared with the old ones in order to exclude any possible bug in the migration process
2. The migrated Low Energy electromagnetic models are compared against the corresponding Standard Electromagnetic models
3. Finally all available electromagnetic models (both from Standard and Low Energy) are compared against data libraries and, more in general, against available experimental data. For photon data libraries we actually choose the following: SANDIA, EPDL97 and NIST. The electron models are validated against NIST data.

Every two months members of the Low Energy Validation sub-group report on their activity and results.
