Electromagnetic Physics mini-workshop

CERN, 12 May 2010

  • A.Bagulya, S.Elles, V.Grichine, S.Incerti, A.Ivanchenko, V.Ivanchenko, J.Jacquemier, O.Kadri, A.Lechner, M.Maire
By phone:
  • P.Gueye, B.Mascialino, L.Pandola, J.Perl, A.Schaelicke

  • Recent validation results
  • New developments
  • Plans for 9.4beta release

  • Validation of Geant4 EM using radioactive sorce data is complimentory to other tests and should be continued
  • Sandia test of energy backscattering should be included into EM testing suite (A.Lechner will have time after summer)
  • Proposal of introduction of the variable density approach was discussed and it was agreed to submit it to SB and architecture team.
  • Goudsmit-Saunderson model of multiple scattering provides the best results for fanoCavity, fanoCavity2, electronScattering, Sandia data. Decided to propose this model for Livermore and Penelope Physics Lists.
  • It was agreed to disable MinEnergyCut call to a model, cut limit should be setup by user (default value 999 eV).
  • Default value of parameter Skin = 1.
  • Before the dead-line to 9.4beta (June,4) number of tests should be carried out to optimize EM parameters (Opt2, Opt3, Livermore, Penelope)
