- old papers: electronic desy records before 74 in spires hepold. Scan printed HEP Index from the 60s? Springer offers xml data for backfiles.
- timeliness: immediate desy input for journals (temporary entries)
- citations: update for revised and published versions. Citations from DESY for Springer, IOP, Elsevier possible right now
- books: We do enter books. Hard to search for? Or do we miss a lot?
- coverage: complaints about not enough accelerator and technology papers. what do we miss?

- alerts: citations, authors, keywords, similar articles. daily alerts for new papers (a la arxiv) would need immediate classification.
