Yes I like the wiki format a little bit better. Though one gets used to mailing list discussions too..

The advantage is that once the discussion coalesces one can re-factor all the text and automatically have useful information in a reference place, without fishing it off threads. Provided that one invests time, that is.

Yes, I'm thinking both are useful. For communication, one still needs the mailing list, and if one wants a dialogue, as for example, Tibor and I have had about a few issues, I think the mailing list might still be right.
The Roadmap though, seems to belong here. It is a fine line...

How about using both tools for which they are best at. For an active
thought exchange and brainstorming and generally any discussion that
is likely to generate questions asking for further elucidation, I
prefer to use the mailing list. The wiki is well suited (a) to draft
down decisions reached in such discussions, for example the proposal
on the
author search clustering. And it
is of course ideal (b) to co-author all kinds of technical
documentation and specs directly in wiki, such as the
SPIRES-Invenio field mapping.
The mailing list can be very useful for the former, while it does not
have to be used at all for the latter.

How about getting the best of the two worlds, using the mailing list to advertise the existence of pages here which are in need of input, without waiting the automatic notification?
