This is a page for notes about discussions SLAC folks have about Inspire, others are welcome to read and comment... I needed this page to make some notes as Mike and I were preparing for the Feb Summit.
Would it be possible to integrate RT into inspire as a workflow management tool?
- Existing GPL tool to handle incoming requests and queue them (incoming from mail, web, etc)
- Flexible, extensible:for library work we integrated RT into circ systems, creating tickets and records that were linked...
- OOPerl/MySQL-based
- Might be difficult to run globally, but not impossible...
- RT could tie incoming ticket to inspire record (from inspires update form..), and provide link to editing screen. Completed edit could close ticket...

Citation Tab/CIte Summary
- FInd out more about this
- Could this be extended into cite summary, or do we need a higher level change to enable summary formatting.
- can we enable searching by citation quantity (binned)
- plot should be more fine-grained for recent articles. Ie plot might self adjest to have 12 bins or so. Plot more useful for summary info where statistics are higher
Bibsched questions
- Status of project to update bibsched to allow interactive editing?
- need to consider locking versus CVS style comparison/merging?
Community Features
- Web 2.0 cool stuff like ratings and comments provide both security and mirroring headaches. Consider whether they are worth it in first iteration...clearly they are wanted/needed in long term!
