How to start up a new ROC

For an overview of the "things to do" refer to the Handbook for ROC creation

The general recommended operational way to start-up a new ROC consists roughly of
  • getting in touch with the partners (the future ROC managers) and start exchanging documentation and contact lists
  • organising and running a kick-off meeting with the partners to agree on a plan for the start-up
    • Input: a draft plan for the start-up to be presented in advance and discussed during the meeting
    • Output:the layout of the proposed new ROC infrastructure and execution tasks in form of a check-list
  • following-up the check-list together with the partners

A " ROC creation project page template" has been created as a guideline throughout this process

  • Customise the names in the page by filling the variables
    <!--  Document Customisation  -->
    %CALC{$SET(fullrocname, Full ROCName (to be defined))}%
    %CALC{$SET(rocname, ROCName (to be defined))}%
    %CALC{$SET(incubator, CERN )}%

    e.g.

    <!--  Document Customisation  -->
    %CALC{$SET(fullrocname, Latin America)}%
    %CALC{$SET(rocname, LA)}%
    %CALC{$SET(incubator, CERN )}%

  • Initial version of check-lists for incubator and new ROC are available in the created page
  • Use the created page freely.
