The distributed certification testbed

The certification testbed is a testbed with a RB, a BDII, a Proxy and a MON box at cern and some CEs with various configuration and Batch Systems behind around the world on differents sites, to test interopability and scalability. This testbed has its own apt repository and its own BDII setting. How to join it

The first step is to contact Louis Poncet. He will add the admins on the mailing list dedicated to this activities support-lcg-certification@cernNOSPAMPLEASE.ch. To inform him how you want contributing to this testbed.

To install use this apt with those 2 repositoryies :

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/lcg.list

rpm http://lxb2042.cern.ch/gLite/APT/R3.0-cert rhel30 externals Release3.0 updates

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/lcg-ca.list

rpm http://grid-deployment.web.cern.ch/grid-deployment/gis apt/LCG_CA/en/i386 lcg

Then apt-get install glite-yaim. And as any install follow the instruction to do it.

When your satelite site is ready you just contact to Louis (louis.poncet@cernNOSPAMPLEASE.ch) the CE hostname and your site name. Your CE must be accessible from outside.

This testbed will be test every 5 hours (from CERN by GD team) with the SFT testsuite for functionalities, then every night the certification tetsuite (stressful test) will be run all night long.

We are begining this activity so let's try to do it quickly cause we will have startup problem for sure.
