FTS3 Integration and Deployment

Mandate and goals

  • Assist the experiments in the integration of FTS3 with their frameworks
    • First in "FTS2-like" mode, then adding new features
  • Commission FTS3 for experiment transfer workflows
    • Compare transfer performance with FTS2, verify optimizer behavior.
    • Monitoring
  • Define the deployment model of FTS3 for WLCG
    • Identify production FTS3 servers
    • Operations support model
  • Migrate experiment production transfers from FTS2 to FTS3
  • Decommission FTS2 servers

FTS2 decommissioning Aug 1st 2014 100% ATLAS, CMS, LHCb All Tier-0/1s All ATLAS, LHCb and CMS transfers migrated to FTS3.
