FTS versioning

Until recently, the FTS version number has followed from the associated gLite release number. As we move to a more component-by-component model of releasing the FTS software, this will no longer be the case. See the table below for the mapping of FTS versions to release numbers:

FTS version gLite release
1.2 1.2
1.3 1.3
1.4.1 1.4.1
1.5 3.0
2.0 3.0 update 27

FTS will move to the gLite 3.1 release branch, as soon as it has been validated with VDT release 1.6.

How can I tell what version I have?

hmmm.. which version did you install?

We are developing a quick script that should tell you exactly which version of FTS you have (and check that the version you have is consistent).
