Release notes: patch 1232 of FTS 2.0

This page describes any extra steps that need to be taken when installing FTS 2.0

YAIM hack

Scope: All nodes of FTS 2.0, if you're not yet using yaim 4.0

Impact: FTS 2.0 won't install correctly with yaim 3.0.

FTS 2.0 is being released at the same time as the general move of gLite from yaim 3.0 to yaim 4.0, during which process (in the last couple of weeks) yaim development has been frozen. Unfortunately, the time pressures of CSA'07 have made us release FTS 2.0 before yaim 4.0 is fully available.

FTS 2.0 now uses two new yaim functions:

instead of the previous FTS_ws, FTA_agents yaim functions. The version of these configurations in the currently released version (i.e. 3.0.*) of yaim are not correct for patch 1232 of FTS.

Please download:

from this page and put these in /opt/glite/yaim/functions/local/ to override the current versions. No other part of yaim needs to be changed.

If you are already using the patched version of yaim 4.0 ( current status as of 18 July 2007: to be released ), you can safely ignore this message, since this version of yaim 4.0 contains ( or will contain ) the correct yaim functions for FTS 2.0.
