PPS configuration for LHCb

LHCb will perform data transfer and access exercises against the test SRM v2.2 endpoints. SRM v2 endpoints should be available at all LHCb T1 centres (preferably) MSS (with FTS endpoints from CERN). The LHCb Tier-1 centres are:

In order for LHCb to perform first tests in the PPS the following requirements should be satisfied:

  1. Provide the following temporary storage requirements expressed in TB:
    • CERN: 20.4
    • IN2P3:5.7
    • FZK: 3.3
    • CNAF: 3.1
    • SARA: 5.1
    • PIC: 3.3
    • RAL: 1.6
  2. LHCb would like access from (production) WN on the sites to these endpoint. They estimate something like the following kSI2k would be needed over a month:
    • CERN: 19.6
    • IN2P3: 24.9
    • FZK: 14.4
    • CNAF: 13.5
    • SARA: 22
    • PIC: 14.4
    • RAL: 6.8
  3. Publish the SRM v2.2 endpoint in the production BDII.
  4. The Storage Classes needed are:
  5. Define the following space token descriptions (more info will be given about the space allocated per token):
    • LHCb_RAW and LHCb_RDST for the CUSTODIAL-NEARLINE storage class
  6. The current space estimation for LHCb_RDST is (in TB)
    • CERN: 0.4
    • IN2P3:0.5
    • FZK: 0.3
    • CNAF: 0.3
    • SARA: 0.5
    • PIC: 0.3
    • RAL: 0.2
  7. Make available an LHCb specific path (ex. /lhcb). LHCb will then create further paths specifying the desired space token, provided that tokens will be decided somewhere in some top levels and will not change for data stored in the leaves of that top directory.
  8. Enable the following groups to reserve space:
    • /lhcb/lcgprod
Please note that in the case of DPM the syntax to use for the group is "lhcb/lcgprod" (without the leading slash) as stored in the cns_db.Cns_groupinfo table.
  9. Publish in the GLUE schema the LHCb specific root path (GlueSAPath)
  10. Publish the space token descriptions (GlueSATag) and the storage classes supported by your site.
  11. Publish the size made available for LHCb and for a particular storage class/space token description at your site.

For publishing information in the GLUE schema, you can find an example here.
