Grid Service Monitoring Working Group

This page describes our understanding of the relationship of this group to some others in EGEE and the expectations, if any, of interactions (written following a meeting at CERN 26th July 2007 & http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=19480).

Service Level Agreement Working Group (SLAWG)

The SLAWG is seen as a policy definition group which recommends to project management, after consultation, appropriate metrics, threshold values etc. which will be used to evaluate a site's operational capability. The Grid Service Monitoring Working Group may provide input to service level definition (for grid middleware services) as to accuracy, reliability or equivalence (e.g. across infrastructure or service implementations) of metrics or, where practical, arrange for the gathering of new metrics as required.

Metrics Implementation Group (MIG)

To assist in its documentation creation, if the MIG does not understand how a metric (related to the reliability or performance of a grid middleware service) or an aggregation of grid service metrics (e.g. for a site is calculated) is derived the Grid Service Monitoring Working Group should be able to provide the information.
