You get this error

NS003 - illegal function 80

Or this error:

$ tail -f /var/log/lfc/log
11/23 09:37:13 12001,0 sendrep: NS003 - illegal function 12

Solution 1

It can mean that you are using a method that is not supported by the LFC server you are contacting.

Check the value of $LFC_HOST. And contact the administrators of this LFC server, to see if they run a version of the LFC server supporting the method.

Solution 2

It can mean you are calling a method that is not allowed after another call has failed.

For instance, if an lfc_opendirg fails, you cannot call lfc_closedirg afterwards. (In LFC/DPM 1.4.1, this is fixed, and the lfc_closedirg is automatically ignored).

The solution is : check the possible failures in your code, so that lfc_closedirg isn't called if lfc_opendirg has failed !

Help !

If it still doesn't help, contact (remove the NONSPAM !).
