  • (1): Network connections will be all wired for best performance. Demonstrators should say if they want them IN or OUT of the CERN firewall. Important to know numbers a.s.a.p. for network people. Also, related to your demo stand's position in space.
  • (2): Posters are the demonstrators' responsibility and will be transported by them. If you order pedestals and if your posters are 50x100cm you can glue your poster(s) on the pedestals. For those who requested tables or have A0 poster format, about 10 panels and wire panel holders exist can be made available but they are mostly not stored in the Globe we must know how many we want some days ahead of time. One such panel between 2 demos for A0 posters (back to back) are being suggested.
  • Phones are probably not needed in the mobile telephony era (?)
  • T-shirts are your choice and should be paid by your budget. LCG Operations decided to have some for their demonstrators.

  1. Table(s)/Pedestal(s)/Chairs you can have are now listed above. ALICE will bring own screens so presumably they need a table or 3 additional pedestals. The furniture needs are most important at this stage due to Transport Service planning.
  2. Setup to test participation commitment (Mon and Wed afternoons, Sep 29th and Oct 1st - see above).
  3. Final setup commitment for Fri morning Oct 3rd starting 07:00. Demos should be running if possible by 09:00 when registration opens.
  4. Information for the media USB stick: Demonstrators are invited to include information in the USB stick that will be given to the journalists who have registered (a great chance to include promotional information, pdfs, links to articles, etc). All material should be sent to <> real soon now!!. Cristy can also help drafting fact sheets or information sheets targeted to the media

1.*24-inch screens and network connections*: Must be clearly stated in the above table.
  1. Furniture: One pedestal (like the ones in the Entrance of B.513) per screen or one table, to be clearly stated in the above table (we have 9 demos but we do not have 9 tables), as many chairs as demonstrators (please say if you take shifts and you need less chairs, we are especially short of chairs). Beware of space limits! Catering, registration and the current Globe exhibition are also located on the Ground floor.
  2. Food: Buffet lunch. Since sessions upstairs go until 1pm, they can start from 12 or 12:30. Apero will be 5-6pm. Please join but also to keep the demos running until 6pm.
  3. Media Briefing: At lunchtime on Wed Oct 1st, probably around 12:30 (exact time to be confirmed), there will be a working sandwich lunch on the First floor of the Globe where James Gillies will brief speakers and demo staff on handling press. Demo team members please indicate if they intend to participate. We should estimate numbers about one week before, around Sep 25th.
  4. Hotel accomodation for demonstrators from remote sites for 1 or 2 nights at the NH Thistle on the Airport edge of Meyrin. has the details.
