Disk layout
The disk layout has been studied extensively
here. The conclusion is that the disks should be set up as RAID1 using ext3. The procedure is defined as follows
Elonex small disk server configuration (ex_06_3)

Searching for accessible SCSI devices:
/dev/sdb
/dev/sdc
/dev/sdd
Scanning for RAID superblocks on SCSI devices:
/dev/sdb: none
/dev/sdc: none
/dev/sdd: none
Setting up /dev/sdb:
fdisk /dev/sdb > /tmp/fdisk.sdb.log 2>&1
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb1 bs=1M count=8 2>/dev/null
mkfs.ext2 -m 0 -i 262144 /dev/sdb1 >/tmp/mkfs.sdb1.log 2>&1
