Nowadays LCG MCDB is properly operating and ready to use. The system is accessible via the Web-site All MC event files accommodated in LCG MCDB are available over GridFTP or, directly, from CASTOR. Web-interface was tested and adopted to work correctly with the most popular
browsers (Mozilla, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera). Migration of files and corresponding documentation from CMS MCDB is in good progress. The HepML project is the main point for the present development in our group.

    • direct access to LCG MCDB samples via CASTOR/GridFTP/Web [done]
    • documentation on automatic parsing of event samples (depends on HEPML development) [in progress]
    • development of C++ libraries and utilities for the collaboration software [started for CMS]

  • HEPML (a unified XML format of event samples and the event documentation)
    • conception and structure is under discussion and described in HepML
    • A publication about HepML is needed to spread and dicuss the ideas (as a part of LHEF) in HEP community
    • The first version of LHEF agreement is published in hep-ph/0609017
    • Discussion and presentation of LCG HEPML on the MC4LHC workshop ( talk)
    • Collaboration with CEDAR to combine effort of the two groups on development of HEPML
    • Web-conference meetings of developers (S.Belov, A.Gusev, A.Sherstnev, L.Dudko, A.Kryukov, M.Kirsanov)
    • Development of HepML libraries and utilities (Interfaces and libraries to save, read and exchange event files in different formats via HepML files, which are based on Les Houches Accord #1 and MCDB XML schemas)
