To install CE with separate Torque Server

Install & config glite-Torque-Server

(1) Add to the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/glite.list

rpm http://lxb2042.cern.ch/gLite/APT/R3.0-pps rhel30 externals Release3.0 updates

(2) Add to the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/SA1.list

rpm http://lxb2040.cern.ch/APT_REP glite/i386/SA1 SA1

And run:

(3) apt-get update
(4) apt-get upgrade
(5) apt-get install JAVA
(6) apt-get install glite-yaim
(7) mkdir  /opt/glite/yaim/etc
(8) cp /opt/glite/yaim/examples/* /opt/glite/yaim/etc/

(9) update the site-info.def file.
In site-info.def, one need to specify CE and Torque Server

    [...]
    CE_HOST=lxb1926.$MY_DOMAIN   (i.e the Torque Server)
    VOS="dteam atlas alice lhcb cms biomed diligent switch"
    [...]

(10) In order to install the glite-torque-server:

apt-get install glite-torque-server-config

Before running the configuration of the node:

* Make sure that files
(i) groups.conf (ii) users.conf (iii) wn-list.conf
are in /opt/glite/yaim/etc/
groups.conf and users.conf should be set according to the VOS specified in site-info.def

* WN (name) should be in /opt/glite/yaim/etc/wn-list.conf
* make sure that the CE and WN(names) are in the file below:

  cat /etc/hosts.equiv
  lxb2006.cern.ch
  lxb1934.cern.ch

  ...In this case lcg-CE=lxb2006.cern.ch and glite-WN=lxb1934.cern.ch

(11) In order to configure glite-Torque-Server, run:

/opt/glite/bin/configure_node /opt/glite/yaim/etc/site-info.def TORQUE_server

(12) In order to avoid the maui stuck problems do:

Add to /etc/passwd

edginfo:x:102:103::/home/edginfo:/bin/bash

Check /var/spool/maui/maui.cfg

ADMIN3                 rgma edginfo

this line should be there.

Besides on lcg-CE, check the users in /var/spool/maui/maui.cfg

ADMIN1                  edginfo,edguser,rgma,root

Install & config lcg-CE

Follow the Step(1)->step(8) stated above.

(9) update the site-info.def file
In site-info.def file one needs to specify the following variables:

    [...]
    CE_HOST=lxb2006.$MY_DOMAIN   (i.e the hostname)
    MON_HOST=lxb2093.$MY_DOMAIN (i.e the Monbox for PPS)
    Torque_Server=lxb1926.cern.ch (pointed to the Torque server)
    CLASSIC_HOST=lxb2058.cern.ch  (pointed to the SE)
    VOS="dteam atlas alice lhcb cms biomed diligent switch"
    [...]

(10) One needs to install the torque-client on lcg-CE when Torque Server is on separate box.

apt-get install glite-torque-client-config

(11) To install & config lcg-CE, run:

apt-get install lcg-CE
/opt/glite/bin/configure_node /opt/glite/yaim/etc/site-info.def CE

Note:
Before doing configuration make sure that,
* the WN associated with this CE is there
e.g cat /etc/hosts.equiv
lxb1934.cern.ch
* the groups.conf, users.conf and wn-list.conf files should exist in /opt/glite/yaim/etc/
* Set the groups.conf, users.conf according to the VOS specified in site-info.def.

(13) cd /opt/glite/yaim/scripts/ and run:

./run_function /opt/glite/yaim/etc/site-info.def config_users
./run_function /opt/glite/yaim/etc/site-info.def config_torque_client
./run_function /opt/glite/yaim/etc/site-info.def config_torque_submitter_ssh

(14) You should also install maui client by apt-get install maui-client

Note: If maui-server is installed on lcg-CE then you should stop it by service maui stop (is the same for glite-CE), because in our case it should run on remote Torque-server.

Install & config glite-WN(combined)

Follow the Step(1)->step(8) as stated above.

(9) update the site-info.def file
In site-info.def file one needs to specify the following variables:

    [...]
    CE_HOST=lxb2006.$MY_DOMAIN   (pointed to the CE)
    BDII_HOST=lxn1187.$MY_DOMAIN (pointed to the BDII)
    MON_HOST=lxb2093.$MY_DOMAIN (i.e the Monbox for PPS)
    TORQUE_SERVER=lxb1926.cern.ch (pointed to the Torque Server)
    CLASSIC_HOST=lxb2058.cern.ch  (pointed to the SE)
    VOS="dteam atlas alice lhcb cms biomed diligent switch"
    [...]

(10) To install & config glite-WN(combined), run:

install_node /opt/glite/yaim/etc/site-info.def glite-WN_torque
apt-get install glite-torque-client-config
configure_node /opt/glite/yaim/etc/site-info.def WN_combined_torque

* chmod 644 /etc/cron.d/glite-fetch-crl.cron
* Try: scp -v pippo dteam001@lxb2006NOSPAMPLEASE.cern.ch:pippo It shouldn't ask for the passwd..
* cat /etc/hosts.equiv >> It should be empty
