Problem
I want to update many ACLs. How can I proceed? (LFC and DPM)
Solutions
Currently, there are 2 ways which depend on the use cases.
- Use of dpns-setacl (for the DPNS) and/or lfc-setacl (for the LFC)if you want to update a set of specific files or directories (usuallly not a lot)
- Use of a C application located at /afs/cern.ch/project/gd/DataManagementBackupX/scripts. It allows the manager to update all the ACLs for BOTH directories and files located under a given root directory. There is a README which explains how to execute the script. Basically there are two scenarii:
- 1) I want to change the permissions for one specific group only. For instance, i want to allow people coming with the role=atlas/Role=production to access the directory /grid/atlas/dq2/ (all the existing files and directories under it wil also be updated).
- 2) I want to change both permissions for one specific group and the group owner. For instance I want to set the group owner of the directory /grid/atlas/dq2/ to atlas/Role=production and allow people from ATLAS to still access this directory. (all the existing files and directories under it wil also be updated).
The README gives instructions on how to proceed with the two previous scenarii.
