ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum Topic: T-channel simplified models
Responsibles: A, B, C, D
Task: chose generic t-channel simplified models
Timescale: needs completed by the end of January 2015
The Forum members working on this subject have the responsibility to choose a set of
t-channel simplified models (matrix element) that should be agreed upon by both collaborations for Run-2 searches. They will discuss and work with those responsible for the full list and for other channels (see
OverallListAndDocumentation page) and include other experts in the discussion if necessary.
Sub-topics and questions
- SUSY-inspired models vs non-SUSY-inspired models? (avoid duplicating SUSY simplified models)
- t-channel, scalar mediator
- t-channel, vector mediator: why isn't this a standard choice in the literature? Should we include it?
Work log and plan
December 2014: Steve Mrenna and the ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum organizers have produced a first document draft with three (?) models and a proposal of grid scan points as a starting set.
Suggested timeline and milestones
First ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum meeting: 2nd week of January 2015
- Reach agreement or implement changes with respect to the initial list.
- Present a plan for convergence of the list
- Start communicating with Forum members working on the subject of the implementation
Second ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum meeting: last week of January 2015
- Have a final list of selected t-channel models to serve as Run-2 benchmarks
- Actively participate in decision of grid points and various implementations to be used
Third ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum meeting: second week of February 2015
- Prepare documentation suitable both as a reference for the internal ATLAS and CMS audiences and as an explanation for theory and non-‐collider readers.
- Share written documentation with Forum participants and reviewers
