SM Higgs production cross sections at √s = 7-13 TeV and decay branching ratio for MH=125.09 GeV (a la CERN Report 3)


  • Higgs XS&BR numbers will be updated in CERN Report 4.

SM Higgs production cross sections for MH=125.09 GeV

  • XS numbers are interpolated from CERN Report 3 for 7 TeV and 8 TeV as well as 13-14TeV projections.
  • See 8 TeV XS TWiki page for more information on calculation conditions.
  • All ggF and VBF numbers are based upon complex-pole-scheme (CPS), while WH/ZH and ttH numbers are with zero-width-approximation (ZWA).
  • All numbers are inclusive cross sections.
  • Due to bug in WH/ZH PDF+αs uncertainty calculation, the numbers have slightly decreased by 1% for 13 TeV (no change for 7 and 8 TeV). (2015.06.19)

gluon-gluon Fusion Process

  • All cross sections are in complex-pole-scheme from the dFG program. They are computed at NNLO+NNLL QCD and NLO EW.

  • gg→ZH is a part of NNLO QCD correction to pp→ZH process and included in total cross section. See explanation in 8 TeV cross sections.

SM Higgs boson decay branching ratios for MH=125.09 GeV

  • BR are interpolated from CERN Report 3 numbers.
  • See Section2 in both CERN Report 2&3 for uncertainty discussions.
  • Uncertainties below is from Table 3 in CERN Report 2. For recent updates please refer to CERN Report 3 numbers !
  • Parametric Uncertainty (PU) and Theory Uncertainty (THU) in H→4f are identical to those in H→WW/ZZ process.
  • Parametric Uncertainty (PU) due to Higgs boson mass is not included.
  • (*) Please note that the charge conjugate state is not included for H → l+ νl q q.
