This page contains the discussion of the flavorful 2HDM, as proposed in this paper. The idea is that the mass of the light quark and lepton generations arises from a second Higgs doublet. The phenomenology is very distinct from the phenomenology of Type I-IV 2HDMs. We propose the search of the additional Higgs bosons (A, H, H^\pm) arising in this model.

Benchmark models and couplings

The phenomenology of the model is fixed by the following parameters: cos(alpha-beta), m_A, m_H, m_{H^\pm}, tan(beta). The couplings of the heavy Higgses break flavor universality and, in particular, the neutral Higgs couplings are given by

(Note that these expressions are valid neglecting terms suppressed by small second/third generation mass ratios.)

To simplify the parameter space, we propose to impose the alignment limit

. This condition on the parameters keeps the most interesting features of the model.

Branching ratios and cross sections

It is interesting to note that the quark-quark fusion cross section is very important in this model.
