List of bad ethernet cables

Test Result with Force 10 switch

We have found some bad Ethernet cables between D2 and D3, D1 and D2. And we also tested these cables with TDR of Force10 switch.

* The length was measured from the end of the patch panel in D2

** the port status was cycling with on and off


For PS Board05, port0, 1, 2 are connected to the patch port D3B01A02, D3B01A03, D3B01A04, and port3 is disconnected
For ECAL Board17, port0, 1, 2 are connected to the patch port D3B02A22, D3B02A23, D3B02A24, and port3 is disconnected
For ECAL Board22, port0, 1 are connected to the patch port D3B02B19, D3B02B20, and port2, 3 are disconnected
For ECAL Board23, port0, 1, 2 are connected to the patch port D3B02B22, D3B02B23, D3B02B24, and port3 is disconnected
For TPUTELL03 , port0 is connected to the patch port D3E02D05
For Farm node B09 control sw, the uplink is connected to the patch port D1B09A16 to D2D08C06, then connected to sw-ux-01 by a long cable
For Farm node B07 data sw, the storage uplink is connected to the patch port D1B07A08 to D2B04B24, then connected to sw-d2b04-s1

Test Result with FLUKE DSP4000 analyzer

We had test the bad cables with FLUKE DSP4000 on May 15, 2008.

In the test, the DSP4000 was connected with D2 patch panels with 0.4m cat cable, and the Smart Remote was connected with D1 or D3 patch panels with 0.4m cat cable.
