Slice Test - Check and connectorisation of the cables

  1. Take the test sheet of the slot under investigation.
  2. Check the cables of the TELL1 in crate D3E02U, D3E02L, D3E03U, D3E03L or D3E04U. The ports of the TELL1 are numbered from PP0 (top) to PP3 (bottom).
  3. Check the cable in the given channel of the Control Board in crate P1A02U or P1A02L (balcony). The Control Board channels range from channel 0 (top) to channel 5 (bottom).
  4. Move to the VELO A- (close to the elevator) or C-side (close to the cryogenics platform).
  5. Check that the LV of the hybrid and the Repeater Board are switched off, i.e. check that the current ??? does not exceed 0.01 A.
  6. Carefully remove the cables of the last slot.
  7. Carefully connect the cables of the slot under test. The control cable is connected to the middle port (J21), the data cables to the upper (J17, J18) and lower (J19, J20) two ports.

  • Always check that there is no power on hybrid and Repeater Board before you disconnect any cable.
  • To disentangle the clamps from the port when removing the connector, first push the connector, the press the strings and finally retract the connector.
  • Avoid any lateral forces on the cables close to the connectors since this easily leads to the retraction of a pin.
