CERNVM 1.2.0 Issues

Getpack does not work out the box

There are a few issues here. Firstly CERNVM uses obsolete LHCb setup scripts. See https://savannah.cern.ch/bugs/?53454 for how to correct this.

You also will need to install subversion

 > sudo conary update subversion

since getpack needs this (for access to Gaudi packages).

Building CMT packages fails

Again there are a couple of issues here :-

  • First is the latest CMT version requires the lockfile utility, which is provided by the procmail package which is not installed by default. This can be fixed by installing it by hand.

 > sudo conary install procmail

  • The other issue is gmake may be missing. This is normally just a sym-link to make so can be fixed with.

 > ln -s /usr/bin/make /usr/bin/gmake
