Session on Charm CP violation and rare decays

This Wiki page documents the discussions of the Charm CP violation and rare decays session of the LHCb-Theory November 2011 workshop. A proposed draft agenda is given below. The topics are taken from the talks proposed by theory colleagues where possible; in some cases a speaker has not yet been identified. Each subsection opens with a brief LHCb introduction, foreseen to be around 10 minutes, and closes with a discussion foreseen to be 20-30 minutes.

Draft Agenda

Direct CP violation in the decays of charmed hadrons (90 minutes)

  • LHCb introduction
  • The theoretical uncertainty on direct CPV in singly cabibbo suppressed SM decays (A. Kagan)
  • CP violation in Dalitz plots of multi-body charm decays (I. Bigi)
  • Charmed baryons : CP violation and rare decays (A. Khodjamirian)
  • Discussion

CP violation in the mixing of neutral charmed mesons (90 minutes)

  • LHCb introduction
  • SM expectations for CPV in D mixing (A. Kagan)
  • Long-distance methods for M_12 and Gamma_12 (A. Petrov)
  • The HQE-approach to charm mixing (M. Bobrowski)
  • Discussion
