News
- From Architects Forum
(Philippe):
- Oliver Keeble from Grid Deployment (GD) area will be the link-person between the AA and the GD
- Pere is new leader of SFT and Stefan is new leader of SPI (replaces Andreas)
- Grid UI software is being migrated to SLC4
Marco Ca.: there is a new version of ROOT released, do we need it? The changes are not needed for LHCb: we do not need to wait a new version of LCG to release Gaudi.
Software Releases
Gaudi (Hubert)
- Pathces
- from Atlas (genconf, ICounterSvcm, memory leak in IIncidentSvc)
- from Vanya (Auditors can use Tools, TimingAuditor)
Marco Ca. suggests that probably we do not need anymore the code to do the timing in the sequencer. To be verified.
- Fix for Exception handling: now the default behavior is to stop on unhandled exceptions.
- We can release on LCG 50
Marco Cl.: what about the plan of the python install area? Not yet ready.
LHCb, Boole, Brunel (Marco Ca.)
- New release on Tuesday (mainly for Moore)
- Added MDF package to LHCb
- Doxygen failing with disk access problems
- removed references to ROOT TAGS
- modified the script to generate the documentation so the it can write to a local disk
- The build using nightlies fails (CondDB change in API)
- HLT Python dictionary moved to HLTBase
The new versions of LHCb, etc. are DC06 compatible, but will never used in production.
Gauss (Gloria)
- Gauss v25r8 released on Friday
- Preparing v30r1
- new Gaudi
- new GEANT4
- new generators
Panoramix (Thomas for Guy)
- Problems with Python
- Porting to QT4, fighting with ROOT
Round Table
- Marco Ca.
- Problem with rootmap files: when the dictionary for a class is found on many libraries, it seems that the last one is taken (opposite behavior wrt the one expected for LD_LIBRARY_PATH)
