Subjects
Specific Topics
Panoramix Configuration
Thomas showed a couple of
slides
to ask for feedback on a script to configure Panoramix.
It has been pointed out that it is not needed to getpack Panoramix to have access to the options file mentioned in the slides: it is enough to copy it locally.
News
- A bug in COOL 2.1.1 has been found recently (segfault at exit). Since nobody has yet used it in any release, it will be rebuilt with the fix
- (Joel) Production status is progressing
- Reconstruction is OK
- Stripping on the right path (still few problems to be solved)
Software Releases
LHCb, Boole, Brunel (Marco Ca.)
- Segmentation fault after finalize. It should be enough to play with ApplicationMgr.ExtSvc, once the problematic service is identified.
- Problem with PatKs, under investigation.
- New LHCb, Boole, Brunel should be released in the afternoon
- A feature/bug has been found in DC06.
It has been said (a long ago) that MC event must have a negative event number. Of course this was forgotten when DC06 started and all the event have a positive event number.
Marco Ca. proposed to use a bit in the ODIN "event type" word (32 bits). For backward compatibility, the real data will have the bit set, while MC (as in DC06) will not have it.
Matt asked about the new tracking for the Velo (which increases the ghost rate).
It will go in this version of Brunel, unless David decides otherwise before the release.
Marco Ca.: Since the event number is already in ODIN, we could remove it from RecHeader. Marco Cl. remembers that it was decided to leave it there because it seems more intuitive from the user point of view, but there is no objection.
Marco Cl.: We should add the CondDB tags to the headers.
It has been agreed to add a vector of strings.
Gloria reminded that we need a brain-storming meeting to sort out the missing details about the usage of the CondDB.
Gauss (Gloria)
- Got positive feedback from the Rare Decays Physics Group about the speed up of the generators (6s per event).
- Few new event types.
- A new release will be prepared soon (based on latest Gaudi, using SQLDDDB).
DaVinci
Jeoel: Patrick is waiting for the results of production tests to release DaVinci v19r1.
Round Table
- Florence
- The problem with the latest version of CMT and Panoramix has been fixed by changing Panoramix requirements. It still does not build on win32.
Christian Arnault is aware of our problems and is trying to fix them.
- Markus
- PVSS is available only for SLC3 with gcc 3.2.3
- Joel
- Received a mail from the Linux Certification Group about the upcoming SLC5.
We agreed that, to be able to test it, we need first that the grid middleware is available and deployed.
- Thomas
- CASTOR is not stable. Hans needed to run a job 5 times (with pre-staging etc.) before it managed to process all the files.
Marco Ca. also had problems with the reading of files.
