News
- LCGCMT 56b
has been released
- A new version of the CERN distcc package have been released, with support for LCG-distributed compiler (gcc 4.3.2)
Software Releases
Gaudi (Marco Cl.)
- Gaudi v21r2 is ready, Hubert started the build
- removed the '-s' link flag in the optimized binaries (increase of ~10% in size of the libraries)
- added support for tcmalloc in gaudirun.py via a command line option
LHCb, Boole, Brunel (Marco Ca.)
- LHCb and LbCom tagged in the nightlies
- Next cycle to be built starting from July 13 (which means that Gaudi should be ready by Thursday July 9)
When can we start testing the new ROOT (5.24)? We will use a nightly slot as soon as there is a free one.
Gauss (Gloria)
- MC09 release this or next week (minor changes)
- A new DEV version will come soon after the MC09 one (using the latest versions of everything)
Marco Ca.: it has been requested recently to have David and Dawn in the distribution of LHCb software.
It will be quite easy to distribute individual external packages with the next generation install_project, but very complicated right now. We should wait.
HLT/DaVinci (Patrick)
- Hlt, Phys and Analisys are almost ready
Online (Markus)
- New release based on LHCb v27r2
- Affected by a lack in the interface package of Boost
Round Table
- Marco Cl.
-
- A change in the beam type enum has been requested (from left/right to 1/2).
- Modified CondDBAdmin_MakeSnapshot to generate XML files instead of SQLite files.
- Hubert
-
- The build we are using of CMT (v1r20p2007...) is not static, causing problems on SLC5 (32bits). Marco Cl. provided a static build that will replace the dynamic one.
- We should start to test the new CMT (v1r20p20090520). It seems to work, but is not tested on all the possible use-cases. A deployment plan can be to switch to it giving instructions on how to switch to the old one in case of regressions.
- Created system (/etc/profile.d) login scripts for LbLogin.
- Added a --no-strip-path option to LbLogin for ONLINE.
- Modified install_project to automatically re-start with the latest version.
